Running your own proxies or personal VPN starts with renting a server, choosing the software and configuring connections. Proksik automates installation on your VPS: you enter the server connection details and the required settings, run the server checks and confirm the installation. The result is a set of connections you can use in your application.
Proksik and Frigate Proxy share the same operator. In this review, we explain the current version of our service: what it does, which VPS it requires and which tasks remain the server owner's responsibility. Features and terms were checked on October 21, 2026.
What is Proksik and how does it work?
Proksik automatically sets up proxies and VPN software on your own VPS. It currently supports two setups: IPv6 proxies powered by 3proxy and a personal VPN powered by Xray. You choose and pay for the server through a hosting provider; Proksik installs the software and prepares the connections.
The workflow has separate stages: enter the configuration settings, check the server, then confirm installation. Preparing a configuration plan does not change the VPS. The dashboard includes server records, saved plans and job history, with installation progress shown in a separate section.
Our blog already has an article about the earlier IPv6 proxy version. This review covers the current Proksik dashboard and its two setup options. Older screenshots and instructions may differ from today's wizard.
Two options: IPv6 proxies and a personal VPN
| Feature | IPv6 proxies | Personal VPN |
|---|---|---|
| Software | 3proxy and ndppd | Xray |
| Connection | HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5, including AUTO mode on a single port | VLESS + WebSocket + TLS on TCP port 443 |
| Operating system | Ubuntu 24.04, amd64 | Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 LTS, amd64 |
| Addresses and domain | IPv4 for client connections and an allocated IPv6 subnet | A public IPv4 address and a domain pointing to the VPS |
| Result | A proxy pool with a separate outgoing IPv6 address for each port | A vless:// link for a compatible client |
| Export | Text formats and JSON | Import the connection link into an application |
Your application determines which option fits. If it accepts HTTP or SOCKS5 proxies and you need different outgoing IPv6 addresses, choose the first option. If you need a VPN client profile that connects through your own server, choose the second.
Setting up IPv6 proxies on a VPS with 3proxy
The IPv6 proxy wizard lets you specify the subnet, number of connections, starting port, authentication and rotation settings. Each port gets a unique outgoing IPv6 address from your subnet. In AUTO mode, HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5 share the same port and credentials.
Supported subnet sizes are /64, /48, /36 and /32. A VPSville preset automatically determines the base IPv6 address and gateway from the allocated subnet. For other providers, you can enter these values manually. Your hosting provider must support using the subnet with the selected network configuration.
You can also enable outgoing IPv6 rotation at a specified interval. There is no fixed limit of 1,000 proxies, but a large subnet alone does not guarantee high performance. The number of concurrent connections depends on the VPS memory, CPU, network and TCP settings.
The main limitation is IPv6 support at the destination. An outgoing IPv6 address alone is not sufficient for a website that only supports IPv4. VPS addresses also remain datacenter addresses: installing 3proxy does not turn them into mobile IPs.
After installation, you can download the connections and test them with the built-in proxy checker. It accepts up to 100 proxies per check and displays the outgoing IP address. Our guide on how to check whether a proxy works covers additional testing methods.
A personal VPN on your VPS: what Proksik configures
The second option is VPN setup on a VPS using Xray. The current wizard uses VLESS + WebSocket + TLS: the client connects to your server through its domain name on port 443. Proksik checks DNS, issues a TLS certificate and configures automatic renewal.
This setup requires:
- a separate VPS with a clean Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 LTS installation on amd64;
- a public IPv4 address and root SSH access;
- at least 1 vCPU and 512 MB of RAM for one VPN profile;
- TCP ports 80 and 443 that are free and reachable from the internet;
- a domain or subdomain with an A record pointing to the VPS IPv4 address.
The service recommends at least 15 GB of disk space and checks the actual free space before installation. Higher workloads require more resources. If a website already uses ports 80/443 on your server, a separate VPS is a better fit for the current wizard.
You do not have to buy a domain: a free DuckDNS hostname is an option. Neither Cloudflare nor an allocated IPv6 subnet is required for this setup. After installation, you receive a vless:// link to import into v2rayNG or another application that supports this configuration.
The VPN page reports testing in v2rayNG over Wi-Fi and a mobile network. These are individual test results, not a promise that every carrier will behave identically. Check the connection on your own network and device.
How to get started
- Choose your setup. Decide between an IPv6 proxy pool and a VPN profile. Their server requirements differ.
- Prepare the VPS. Check the operating system, architecture and network settings. Obtain an IPv6 subnet for proxies or configure a domain name for the VPN.
- Enter the configuration settings. Fill in the Proksik wizard and review the parameters before installation.
- Sign in and connect the server. Provide SSH access to a VPS you are authorized to manage and run the required checks.
- Confirm installation. Follow the stages and result in the installations section. If something fails, consult the job report.
- Save the connections and test them. Use the checker for proxies or a compatible client for the VPN.
Download the connection details within 24 hours of job creation. Encrypted results are then removed by a scheduled cleanup task. Deleting a VPS record or plan from the dashboard does not uninstall software from the server or cancel your hosting subscription.
Your account and server credentials
Registration does not require an email address or phone number. You can enable two-factor authentication using Google Authenticator or a compatible TOTP application. Keep your account recovery code and second-factor backup codes separately: automatic recovery is not possible if you lose the required codes.
Installation requires providing SSH access to the service's installation worker. According to the Proksik privacy policy, your password or key is not saved in the VPS record. A temporary job secret is stored encrypted and removed from the active record after completion, failure, cancellation or expiry processing. Removing an active record does not immediately remove previously created backups.
The service therefore suits users who are comfortable trusting an automated installer with their VPS configuration. For a first installation, use a separate server without live websites or important data. Do not publish passwords or connection links.
How much does Proksik cost?
As of October 21, 2026, Proksik is free to use. The platform does not charge for configuring supported services. VPS rental, paid domains and other third-party services are billed separately.
The pricing page also says that paid plans may be introduced in the future, with changes announced on the website in advance. The current zero platform fee does not include a free server or guarantee that these terms will remain unchanged forever.
Who is Proksik for, and what are its limitations?
Consider Proksik if you own a VPS and want to configure one of the supported setups through a web wizard. Its practical benefits include parameter checks before installation, job history and ready-to-use connection details instead of manually assembling a configuration.
Keep the following limitations in mind:
- the platform is in beta, making a separate, clean VPS particularly useful for a first installation;
- support covers specific Ubuntu versions and the amd64 architecture, rather than every operating system;
- IPv4 proxy setup is listed as a future option and is not currently available;
- the installer does not replace VPS maintenance: costs, credentials and ongoing server administration remain your responsibility;
- the current VPN wizard does not create a corporate network with access to an organization's internal systems.
The Proksik terms specify lawful technical tasks for a predefined group of users and prohibit public distribution of connections and use to bypass legally imposed access restrictions. Take these conditions into account when choosing a setup.
If you need a ready-to-use proxy without running your own VPS, consider renting datacenter IPv4 proxies. For tasks that specifically require mobile carrier addresses, mobile proxies are another option. These provide connections without requiring you to maintain a server.
Frequently asked questions about Proksik
Can I set up proxies without a VPS?
Installation through Proksik requires your own server with a compatible operating system and network configuration. The service automates setup on that VPS.
Can I use my own hosting provider?
Yes, provided it meets the requirements of your chosen setup. For IPv6, ask your provider how the allocated subnet can be used before proceeding.
Does the VPN require IPv6?
No. The VPN wizard needs a public IPv4 address and a domain pointing to the server. An allocated IPv6 subnet is required for the IPv6 proxy option.
Will each proxy have its own address?
In the IPv6 setup, each port receives a separate outgoing IPv6 address. If rotation is enabled, those addresses change according to your settings.
Where can I get help?
The website has a general FAQ and a support link. When reporting a problem, provide the job ID and a description. Keep passwords and connection links out of public messages.
Is Proksik worth trying?
Proksik serves two specific tasks: creating an IPv6 proxy pool with 3proxy or setting up a personal Xray VPN through a browser. The workflow is straightforward: prepare the VPS, review the settings, confirm installation and save the result.
Start by checking the server requirements and compatibility with your application. If they fit, you can open Proksik and enter your setup parameters. Installation does not start at this stage.
